Unfortunately the show in Budweis scheduled for tomorrow will not be happening. We were unable to confirm critical details necessary for the show to occur and therefore will not be able to perform. We apologize to anyone who was planning to come to the show. We will be playing the Czech Republic on October 11th at Circus in ĂšstĂ nad Labem, so we hope to see some of you there.

Additionally, the show in Kumanovo, Macedonia on 9/30 has been moved from Bar Cube to Agora. The address for the venue is still the same.

This massive European tour will be just part of EAST OF THE WALL’s full year of touring in support of their recently released Ressentiment LP, which was unleashed by Translation Loss in July. The album continues to gain momentum, raking in amazing responses, both from those who have followed the band since their work with The Postman Syndrome, Biclops, Day Without Dawn and more over the past decade or more, as well as brand new fans of the technical, nearly unclassifiable act.   Promos of Ressentiment, interviews with the band and live/tour coverage are all available now via Earsplit. Please get in touch with all press inquiries.

“Put simply, East of the Wall have written a minor prog-metal masterpiece without being assholes about it. 9/10″ – Decibel Magazine

…East of the Wall are that rare band that appeal to artsy indie types and metal nerds in equal measures; their dazzling blend of technical post-hardcore aggression, melody and indie sensibility is really one of a kind.” – Metalsucks

“…a somewhat impenetrable proposition of oddball melodies, mind-bending musicianship and new age-y/fusion/jazz of contempo-prog-metal…” – Rock Sound Magazine

“East of the Wall have done everything different and nothing wrong. This is likely to be the single most eclectic album of 2010. I’m tempted to say that Ressentiment is a masterpiece. 10/10″ – Gravedigger Magazine

“…one of the more unique records released this year…a head trip of immense proportions, and well worth your time.” - Popdose

“It’s rare to hear such divergent styles executed at the high level that East of the Wall have managed to reach with this album. 4/5″ – Decoy Music

So to make up for our show cancellation on Tuesday (sorry all, I had me some kidney stones), we’re playing this Saturday at The Updog in Pennington. It’s A Fucking Elephant’s record release show, plus the rest of the bands are great: Xevious (members of Dysrhythmia), So Is The Tongue, and Dead Planet.  2399 Pennington Rd, Pennington, NJ 08534.  Hopefully we’ll see some folks there.

Sorry guys. We have to cancel our appearance at The Acheron due to an illness in the band. We hate cancelling shows more than anything else on the face of the earth, but it’s not physically possible for us to perform tonight. We’re going to come back to Brooklyn soon and rock all your faces to make up for this. Thanks for understanding, and go see the fucking show anyway because Ken Mode and Castevet rule. Cheers.

Jersey prog-destroyers EAST OF THE WALL will unleash their next massive full-length Ressentiment via Translation Loss Records on July 20th. Today, MetalSucks has hosted the an exclusive premiere of the album’s opening track, “The Ladder”, streaming now at this location: http://www.metalsucks.net/2010/07/01/climb-up-the-ladder-with-east-of-the-wall/.

Meanwhile, the band have also posted another new track from the record, ”Wisp Of Tow”, on their official website, Facebook and Myspace pages.

EAST OF THE WALL’s Ressentiment is a concept record in which the band focus on a more aggressive tone, an increased emphasis on sonic dissonance, and also integrating the use of vocals for the first time on an EOTW album. Engineered and co-produced by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (King Crimson, Clutch, Lamb Of God), the album closes out over 62 minutes in length, seamlessly meshing mind boggling tech-metal with serene melodiousness for the entire ride. Preorders for the record are being taken this week: http://translationloss.com/store/.
