Following the release of their third LP, The Apologist, New Jersey-based quintet EAST OF THE WALL have just confirmed a month-long tour of the country this March and into April.
Having already endured a rigorous self-booked trek of America in the Fall months, this second wave of touring in support of The Apologist will see EAST OF THE WALL laying down their oppressively technical wall of progressive metal dissonance alongside Black Tusk for the entire trek. Performances with Prong, Skeletonwitch, Royal Thunder, Intronaut, Gaza and more killer acts fuel the tour as well. A full list of confirmed dates is listed below, with more to be confirmed and added in the days ahead.
Following years of booking their own shows and tours, EAST OF THE WALL have recently partnered with The Pantheon Agency, and through this new alliance the band plan on dominating stages for the rest of 2012.
Recorded by Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio in Brooklyn (Cave In, Pelican, Keelhaul, Unsane, Rosetta), The Apologist undoubtedly portrays the most challenging and groundbreaking EAST OF THE WALL tunes yet, with incredible response from magazines, local newspapers, blogs and through diehard metal and progressive fanbases across the globe still coming in. Released in late October, the CD/digital release of the album was handled by Translation Loss and the 2xLP via Antithetic Records.

Incredible, advance media reviews of The Apologist are dubbing it as the band’s most cohesive and potent material to date. Set for release on October 25th on CD/digital via Translation Loss and 2xLP via Antithetic Records, the textured madness was recorded by Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio in Brooklyn (Cave In, Pelican, Keelhaul, Unsane, Rosetta), and surges with nearly fifty minutes of EAST OF THE WALL’s trademark challenging progressive metallic prowess.
“Imagine the metallic flourishes of the math-rock band Don Caballero lasting much longer, the bombastic gruff of Botch injected with melody, and some super-tight, jazz-inspired guitar work.” – NPR
“… the same wonky, jazzy, proggy via post-hardcore East of the Wall-isms… but done in new ways, evolved to the next level, more ambitious.” – MetalSucks
“It’s progressive metal in the truest sense of the word. This album is as raw and musically uncompromising as they come.” – Alternative Matter
“‘The Apologist has a very straight forward production that focuses the attention to the miracles that are worked in terms of melody and rhythm. It is by far the best East of the Wall have made… A new star in the post-metal sky.” – Lords of Metal
“Melodic, slick, clearly jazz-influenced and wonderfully emotion-hewn, this instrumental section clashes naturally with more technical post-metal-isms later in the same song, but East Of The Wall have the talent to pull it off, whether indulging in softness, harshness, or both together.” – Metal Reviews

We’re now taking Ressentiment vinyl orders. The long awaited double-lp version of our last record is finally being released on March 11th, thanks to the fantastic I.Corrupt.Records from Wiesbaden, Germany.
European folks can pick up the record directly from I.Corrupt, but our American and Canadian buddies can get it either from us at our webstore, or through Translation Loss.
Orders should begin shipping in mid-march.

There are a lot of albums from our back catalog of our current and former bands, and only a couple have been available for sale digitally. We’ve finally rectified that problem. As of now every single one of our releases is available for purchase from the major online retailers like iTunes and Amazon.
They’re also processing for approval at Emusic, Zune marketplace, and Spotify. Some are already through the process but if you’re looking for one of our albums through these smaller sites and you don’t see them there yet, try back in a few days.
The Postman Syndrome – “God Relieve Our Grief” & “Terraforming”
iTunes, Amazon, Zune
Day Without Dawn – “Understanding Consequences” & self-titled demo
iTunes, Amazon, Zune
East Of The Wall – self-titled demo
iTunes, Amazon, Emusic, Zune
We’re about to go into the studio soon so if you want to help fund the band and get some music in the process, here’s your chance. Make it count, kiddo.
EAST OF THE WALL are devising their next cross-country live attack for all of July. The New Jersey crew will be touring in support of their upcoming Translation Loss full-length Ressentiment, to see release while the band is on the road. Ressentiment is a concept record in which the band focus on a slightly different sound, integrating the use of vocals and an increased emphasis on sonic dissonance, and was engineered and co-produced by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (Clutch, King Crimson, Lamb Of God). The final release date and more details will be announced shortly.
On this upcoming tour, EAST OF THE WALL will be joined by Lifeforce Records artists Name for the duration of the month-long excursion, as well as Black Sheep Wall on the west coast leg of the tour. Several dates throughout the tour are still in the booking stage, so the band is reaching out to anybody that can offer a possible show on any of the dates still marked as TBA. Anyone looking to help out can email band(at)eastofthewall(dot)com.
